What is the PMT (Physical Measurement Test)?

The Physical Measurement Test is a mandatory qualifying stage in the HSSC recruitment process. At this stage, candidates’ physical attributes — including height, chest measurement for male candidates, and other prescribed physical standards — are verified by the commission. Only candidates who successfully clear the PMT are allowed to proceed to the next stages of selection, which include the Physical Screening Test (PST) and the written examination. HSSC has advised all candidates to regularly visit the official website hssc.gov.in for day-wise schedule updates, as roll number ranges are published in batches. Candidates must carry a valid government-issued photo identity proof along with their printed admit card on the day of the test.

Posts Covered Under HSSC PMT 2026

The PMT will be conducted for multiple posts across the Police, Forest, and Prisons departments. These include Male Constable (GD), Female Constable (GD), and Male Constable (GRP) under Advertisement 01/2026; Forester under Advertisement 02/2026; and Forest Guard under Advertisement 04/2026. Under the Sports Quota (Advertisement 13/2024), posts include Male and Female Constable GD, Sub-Inspector GD, Deputy Ranger, Warder Male and Female, and Assistant Superintendent Jail (Male).
