Yes. You must have a valid Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test (HTET) or School Teacher Eligibility Test (STET) certificate at the PGT level in Computer Science. Without this, your application will not be considered even if you have a Master’s or B.Tech degree.
Q2. Can candidates from other states apply?
Yes. Candidates from any state in India can apply. However, they will be treated as General Category candidates. They will not get any age relaxation or fee concessions, and they must still possess a valid HTET/STET certificate.
Q3. What is the “Consistent Good Academic Record” rule?
HPSC requires a steady academic performance. This usually means having an average of at least 50% marks in any three examinations out of 10th, 12th, Graduation, and Post-Graduation.
Q4. Is there any negative marking in the exam?
Yes. In the Screening Test (Stage 1), there is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer. It is important to note that each question has 5 options. If you do not know the answer, you must darken the 5th option; leaving it blank will also result in a 0.25-mark deduction.
