1. Can final-year students apply for HCS 2026?

No. You must have your final degree certificate or mark sheet in hand by the closing date of the application (February 26, 2026).

2. Is there any negative marking in the exam?

Yes. In the Preliminary Exam, there is a negative marking of 0.25 marks (1/4th) for every wrong answer. There is no negative marking in the Mains (descriptive) exam.

3. I am from Punjab/Delhi; can I apply for the Haryana HCS?

Yes, candidates from all over India can apply. however, you will be considered under the General Category, even if you have a reserved category certificate from another state.

4. What is the “Qualified” status for Paper II (CSAT)?
